Your AC in Spring may be in such bad shape that repairs will no longer be enough to save it. It may be time for a replacement.
Here are some signs that you need to switch out your old AC for a new one:
- Aging beyond 10 to 15 years
- Diminishing returns from repairs
- Exploding energy bills
- Lagging performance
Though commercial air conditioning systems are larger and more powerful than residential ones, they can involve many of the same sorts of issues as residential ones do. Our team has the skills to repair and reinstall such systems at your place of business promptly and effectively.
Many of the same considerations apply to heating systems as well. If airflow is poor and your air is dirty or sooty, your furnace’s air filters may be to blame. Uneven heating and noises are also signs that the system is in trouble.
However, many of the signs of a need for repairs differ between ACs and furnaces. Whereas an AC might spring a refrigerant leak, the corresponding sign in a furnace is a yellow pilot light. Normally, your furnace’s pilot light should be blue.
If it turns yellow, this indicates a carbon monoxide leak. Furnace repairs may also involve fixing or replacing critical parts like the heat exchanger, blower motor, or flue pipe.
All the signs listed above indicating that you should probably replace your AC also apply to your furnace.
